From my my first consultation with a member of Mr Shah TEAM I found I had great confidence that my hip replacement issues would be resolved . On attending both my pre-assessment check and the Hip School at St Richards I found this gave me further confidence that everything was geared towards ensuring the procedure would be the best possible. I would like to elaborate on the benefit of attending the hip school. Firstly there were approx 20 other patients who were in various levels of pain which was seriously effecting" their quality of life " some of which just excepted that this was how it would remain. We received some very detailed presentations from various members of the TEAM who really went to great lengths to answer any fears we had and also explain and show us the replacement joints which was a real insight. On the day of the operation I was again very impressed at the theatre reception where further care was taken to ensure our well being and reduce infection risks. The final stage before the operation was in the theatre holding bay where I met the theatre TEAM who were very relaxed and showed genuine empathy . Now I am in the actual theatre where I met Mr Shah and the operation TEAM who explained in more detail how things would proceed. I felt totally relaxed as I knew I was in safe hands and receiving the best possible treatment. Following the operation I was visited by Mr Shah who confirmed all had gone to plan and that my satisfactory recovery was now really down to me to ensure I carried out the physio which is vital for the best results. I really can't stress enough the need to push yourself (even it is a bit painful ) post operation otherwise not only your time but the hospitals time has been wasted and also your quality will not improve at all. I hope my observations have been helpful and I hope you like me will be able to return to normal life again without the pain. Alan Packham

I am so glad I asked Mr Shah to operate on my knee. I had experienced pain from osteoarthritis for several years, and am now pain free Thankyou Mr Shah. The surgery was planned at Goring Hall Hospital and the whole team of ward and theatre nurses and anaethetist ensured I had a safe and good recovery. Mr Shah listens and ensures all the appropriate care is given in the post operative period, especially the physiotherapists. My knee incision has healed well, and apart from some swelling I now have a quality of life.

I fractured my right hip in 2019 whilst holidaying in Spain where a repair was carried out in a local hospital. Upon my return to England the pain I suffered was unbearable so I visited my GP who referred me to Mr Shah. After numerous Xrays and consultations it was felt that the Spanish 'repair' had collapsed and the screws used for the repair required removal. In March 2021 I had the procedure to remove the surgical screws and I have been pain free ever since. Both Mr Shah and all members of his team have been exceptionally professional and I cannot thank them enough for giving me my life back. Even during the Covid 19 pandemic I have received the most caring treatment and felt completely safe attending the hospital, for which I an truly grateful.

I am 85 year old man ,and was in the most terrible pain for some time, finding it very difficult to get about.because of the pain.I could not leave the house. My concern was that at my age ,little could be done for me, After a consultation with Mr Shah I went into Goring Hall for a right hip replacement.I was in hospital for three days. The care I received from Mr Shah and the very caring nursing staff ,was excellent. I am only 7 week post opp.and I am now able to take short walks every day ,and can now walk around the house without any sticks.this hip replacement has turned my life around ,I cannot express how grateful I am to Mr Shah and his team . I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Shah to anybody that is in need of a hip replacement.regardless of age. Ray Rota

Hip replacement superb including realigning the joint to equalise leg length..Also good physio advice and all written recommendations very useful and professional. My criticism as an NHS patient is that I was discharged while still not passing water (and constipated) without any necessary warning of the consequences, and it took an emergency visit to Worthing Hospital 5 days later with acute urinary retention to start treating the problem.
